Camping in Séniergues: outdoor holidays on the agenda

[Translate to Anglais:]

Fancy taking a small trip to the centre of the Earth? Head for the gouffre de Padirac cave, a must-see during your camping holidays in the Lot. Once you’ve explored the length and breadth of this natural chasm, return to the surface and head for the grotte des merveilles cave in Rocamadour or the grottes de Lacave. Fancy some sun? Organize a hiking or mountain bike trip with your group and set off to explore the trails of the Causses du Quercy Regional Nature Park. A feast for the eyes... And a small challenge for your calves!

Itinerary from Séniergues to Cahors

[Translate to Anglais:]

After you’ve admired the Romanesque church at Séniergues, head for some of the region’s “plus beaux villages de France,” (most beautiful villages in France). Your first stopover will be at Saint-Cirq-Lapopie, a small, charming, medieval city overlooking the Lot. Wander around some of its picturesque streets - just time enough to capture the moment on camera - before heading off to Autoire or Carennac, two charming villages with even more attractions. And don’t miss the fortified village of Loubressac, nestled on top of a rocky outcrop. Would you like to see more? Head to Cahors, Quercy’s historic capital, a city with a distinctive southern atmosphere, which was awarded the “Ville d’art et d’histoire” (City of art and history) label several years ago.

Spotlight on regional products from the Lot

Here at Sites et Paysages, we believe that it’s important to treat ourselves to France’s different regional culinary specialities when on a camping holiday... What about you? So, during your stay in Séniergues, try a bit of Rocamadour cheese, together with a nice glass of Cahors wine. To cleanse your palette, enjoy a couple of slices of deliciously sweet “melon du Quercy.” As a main dish, young and older foodies will both love a bit of Quercy farmhouse lamb. Fancy taking back a locally produced souvenir? Opt for a few pinches of saffron which will brighten up your meals throughout the year.
